Roundtable: AI, Multilingualism and Accessibility in European Audiovisual Media (L’Alternativa – CCCB)
21 November 2025 at 12:30 p.m. CCCB Auditorium
We will explore how artificial intelligence is transforming the European audiovisual landscape, particularly in multilingual and culturally diverse contexts such as Catalonia. The session will address the opportunities and challenges that AI brings to accessibility, linguistic and cultural diversity, and audiovisual production and industry, while offering a practical look at how innovation can be integrated into the daily work of filmmakers, producers, and festivals. It will be a space to debate, reflect, and share experiences about the future of the sector, combining institutional, creative, and technical perspectives.
Participants will include Francesc Mas (Project Engineer at CCMA), Pilar Orero (PhD at UAB and member of the TransMedia Catalonia Lab research group), Guim Bonaventura i Bou (Coordinator of Catalunya Film Festivals), and Miquel Romans (member of Productors Audiovisuals de Catalunya and producer at Principal Segona), as well as representatives of user associations. The session will be moderated by Adriana Pérez Villa (journalist and director of Inclús – Barcelona International Disability Film Festival).
The event will include a Catalan Sign Language (LSC) interpreter.
