Sign Language Rap Workshop

Festival Inclús presents an artistic co-creation workshop exploring the possibilities of rap and sign language as forms of expression, communication and creation, encouraging self-discovery through creative writing and its expression.

Over two afternoons, participants, guided by NEVE, will work together to create a rap piece in sign language. Through writing, rhythm, movement and bodily expression, they will experiment with the visual and musical possibilities of this discipline and discover new ways of conveying emotions and building a shared artistic language.

The workshop aims to create a meeting space for Deaf and hearing people, where sign language is not only understood as an accessibility tool, but also as a language for musical creation that gives form and presence to what participants want to communicate.

No previous experience in rap or knowledge of sign language is required to take part.

The resulting piece will later be presented during a special festival session, alongside a screening of the documentary The Way We Move and a concert. An opportunity for participants to share the outcome of the creative process with the audience.
