What Does It Mean to Be Normal? The Body and Non-Normative Thought
Date: 26 November 2026 Time: 6:00–8:30 pm Venue: Space A – CaixaForum Barcelona
Who decides what is normal? Who determines which bodies, behaviours and ways of thinking are acceptable, and which fall outside the norm?
The second D_THINK session challenges the idea of normality as a social construct and examines the mechanisms that turn difference into exclusion.
From the perspectives of disability and critical thought, we propose a conversation about the body, identity and the many different ways of inhabiting the world. In a society that constantly demands adaptation to standards of ability, productivity and behaviour, what happens to those who do not fit them?
A session designed to unsettle, question established norms and imagine other ways of living together.
